I’m Ava Ruston, a contemporary romance writer & author.
A northern California native, I began writing while recovering from an injury to my knee I suffered while hiking a trail in the mountains close to my home.

As a lover of love, I wanted to give readers something to sink their teeth into. Something exciting that you find yourself sneaking into empty rooms to read.

I hope to help give an escape from the stress of day-to-day life, the same escape that I have when publishing these books. I love it when they make me blush and then I laugh out loud.

My novels in the Next Door series explore the relationships shared between the protector and the protected.

While my books often have powerful forces trying to keep the hero from his woman, their passions conquer all.

I write stand-alone books rather than series because I believe the best feeling in the world is finishing a story where the lovers have ended up together and found their happily ever after.

This lets the reader feel closure, relief, and joy– after they have experienced all the steamy fun, of course.

When I’m not writing, I enjoy spending time with my animals, my children, and my loving husband, who has, upon occasion, caught me blushing.
